TAXPAYER NEWS DANE COUNTY: 2011 Tax amounts are online. Taxpayers can also get E-Bills and E-Receipts for the 2010 and 2011 tax year by going to AccessDane@co.dane.wi.us, clicking on the Public Access oval, and entering Property Information. In the right hand column under tax information, Click on E-Bill or E-Receipt. E-bill reproduces the tax bill and E-receipt shows the payments made for 2010 tax amounts. GREEN COUNTY: 2011 Tax information is online by going to www.co.green.wi.gov and clicking on the Land Records System tab on the right.

Web Site Ad Hoc Committee Minutes
September 27th 2011
The Web Site Ad Hoc Committee meeting was called to order at 7:07 am. Committee members in attendance were Dean Van Den Eng, Nadine Walsten, Carol Strause and Kim Brewer. Steve Wagner could not attend.
Motion:Van Den Eng/Walsten to approve minutes of 04/13/2011. Motion carried unanimously.
Per a recommendation by Leif Spilde, the Emergency Management Director, the committee discussed adding information pertaining to Emergency Management and agreed that the website would be a good avenue for both the posting of emergency advisories as well as educational information. Van Den Eng will contact Mr. Spilde to arrange for theinformation to be posted.
Walsten reported on the types of materials that the Economic Development committee is preparing and the need to add such information to the website. The types of information that is being considered includes a community profile, info about Economic Development in Brooklyn, business listings and local Economic Development plans/services. An Economic Development page will be created as the information is made available.
The committee discussed how information from the Recreation committee is communicated on the website. Van Den Eng will coordinate how to best display such information with the Recreation committee.
The committee reviewed the content on the website. A short list of updates was reviewed and the committee gave Brewer and Strause guidance on their priority. Strause stated that several residents have used the online payment option through Official Payments to pay their water bills and expects many to use this feature to pay their property taxes in December and January.
The committee discussed using social media to compliment the website and better inform residents. More frequent updates will occur on the Village’s Facebook page to keep it relevant. Brewer is scheduled to attend a Social Media Conference on October 20thand will report back on her findings at that time.
