Ad Hoc Bluegrass Festival 2010 Committee
Village of Brooklyn
Minutes April 5, 2010
The meeting was called to order at 7:15 pm by Nadine Walsten Chairperson.
Attending were: Bruce Stein; Scott Meier; David Natzke, trustee.
Minutes for 1/27/10 were approved as written (Meier/Walsten). Minutes
for 2/16/10 were approved (Meier/Walsten). Minutes for 3/10/10 were
approved also (Meier/Walsten).
The budget was updated with the following: Dane County Cultural Affiars
Commission has awared the festival $500 and Tiziani Company (golf carts)
will provide 2 golf carts
for 3 days for a total of $100. No additional bills have been recieved
thus far.
The vendors and vounteers' agreements have been confirmed except for the
Lutheran Church. We discussed the need for a volunteer coordinator and
Walsten will see who
she might be able to recruit for this important position. Walsten will
also try to recruit additional members for the committee. David Natzke
is visiting the committee as a prospective new member.
The web site needs some additional tweaking, addiiton of a handicapped
symbol and the ETix logo needs updating. Walsten will contact Jennifer
and Bill Seymour of ETix to get this resolved.
Stein has set up a Facebook account for the Festival and is acquiring
"friends"--he plans to add additional information each week about the
Festival. In addition, the deadlines for the bluegrass associations have
been met except SEMBA and Stein will be doing that this week.
We discussed ticket prices and decided the following fees: Friday night
and Sunday AM=$10 with $20/family on Sunday AM also. Saturday before 6
pm=$20; after 6 pm=$15. A three day pass=$30. Camping will be
$10/night. These prices were approved (Meier/Stein).
Nothing new to report on contributors--Walsten will be contacting Village
consultant and other corporate donors this week. She will contact Jim
Miller for his list of contacts and she will begin contacting local
businesses. Fundraising has generated approximately $3000 in past years.
We reviewed the $300 level is a sponsor for a band and there will be a
banner announcing this contributor during the performance of the
sponsored band.
At the next meeting we will be discussing t-shirts and design.
Motion is adjourn approved.(Stein/Meier). Meeting adjourned at 9:10 pm.
